We woke up at 7.30am so we could have breakfast at 8am! We slept 10 hours, because we were so tired from the flight! At 5am we got awoken once because the alarm for the prayer sounded! Next, the breakfast was delicious, we even get baked eggs. After breakfast we immediately started with the (second) meeting. The main purpose was to prepare the research in Ratankot. We already received very important information about the way things are organized in Ratankot from Pema La and Kharma! In the mean time the new members of our group experienced a guided tour in the monastery from Trinlay!
For dinner we were fortunate to receive the delicious Dhal Bhat, a lentil soup which is the most typical Nepali food. After that we continued the meeting with Kharma and Pema to learn about the life in Ratankot. After that, at 4pm we had an appointment with Dries, a Belgian guy who already works 2,5 years for Redcross in Nepal. He provided us with very interesting information, and gave excellen feedback on our project's targets! Our meeting took place in a little bar close to the Bhudanath Stupa, a wonderful part of Kathmandu.
In the evening we again received a delicious meal, momo's, which are also a very typical food in Nepal. Finally, at the end the day we had an evaluation of this first exciting day and already made plans what to do tomorrow.
Kind regards from Kathmandu,
